Black April Candlelight Vigil
April 28, 2016
April 30th, or Black April, is one the most important days in Vietnamese history. April 30, 1975 marks the end of the Vietnam War and has forever changed the lives of the Vietnamese. For most of the Vietnamese people, their country was lost on that day. Millions fled the country and sought refuge in America. Thousands of American soldiers also sacrificed their lives for democracy and freedoom for Vietnam. Today, this day is a way for us to remember what our parents and grandparents fought for and where our culture comes from.
UVAC would like to invite you to the upcoming memorial Black April event on Saturday April 30, 2016. This event is organized by Gia Đình Cựu Quân Cán Chính Việt Nam Cộng Hòa - Georgia with the support of UVAC. The purpose of this event is to honor the past while reminding everyone about the importance of this day. There will be a candlelight vigil, songs, and speeches to memorialize all of those who have fought for our freedom.
